Word On The Tweet – The Zlatan Ibrahimovic edition

When LeBron James played in Cleveland, his home town, they were so proud of him they had this enormous, gigantic mural on the side of a building displaying LeBron with his arms out wide, Jesus Christ style, and the headline ‘We are all witnesses’. Well, last night, we were all witnesses! In case you need to remind yourself one more time, here’s the incredible Ibrahimovic goal that set tongues wagging in both real life, and the virtual World.

Once that fourth goal went in, Twitter pretty much exploded.

Once Robbie Savage declares something the best of anything, well then, that’s the discussion closed off! Love the Phile Neville tweet, restrained to the utmost! Alex Ox sounds like he is writing a song. Of course these were just a handful of a gazillion comments on Twitter post goal.

Clubs, journalists and players alike, all expressing their disbelief and indeed admiration at what they had just seen. Joey Barton, a frequent whipping boy here at WOT, probably had one of the funnier comments on the night.

Has anyone any idea what Jonjo Shelvey is on about? Is he saying Zlatan is a basketball player? Or was he describing the goal using some kind of alien\ Mersey slang?!

The best praise often comes from those who share your trade, and Louis Saha was another Zlatan admirer last night.

Of course not everyone was focussed on Zlatan’s wonder goal.

Good old Nicky B was focussed, as is often the case, quite firmly on himself.

Joey Barton’s one man’s war against the World, his continued development of the chasm like chip on his shoulder, went into over drive, perhaps fuelled by the glory of the goal he had seen. First up, what appears to be some kind of socio commentary on the fact not all England players currently are white John Terry types.

Barton might want to clarify that comment, he appears to be poking fun at the FA for giving caps to dual citizens. Either that or he is just bitter it wasn’t him getting said cap. Joey Barton bitter, you say? Surely not?!

People probably wouldn’t have argued with a 20 match ban considering his disruptive, selfish behaviour. However, as is always the case, Joey is always right (at least in his World)

Always right? Mostly right (The ’66 heroes would be a bit miffed at the above).
